Director of Community
Springboard is seeking a Full-Time Community director who will support the execution of Springboard Community programs and events across all industries and geographies. This position offers significant opportunities to take on responsibility and develop meaningful relationships with experienced entrepreneurial talent, industry advisors, and investors. This is a highly visible and exciting role and is well-suited for someone who is energized by moderating/public speaking, relationship building and loves to take initiative.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Role:
Dolphin Tank Pitch Events: Manage Dolphin Tank pitch sessions including securing sponsors, entrepreneurs, and speakers, managing relationships with sponsors and partners, promoting the event, and handling logistics and communication. Includes our “World Funding Women” global pitch event across 3 international time zones on International Women’s Day.
Alumnae events: Develop deep knowledge of where our alumnae are and what type of events attract them to spearhead tangential alumnae meet-ups and events.
SXSW: Manage and plan Springboard’s presence at SXSW in Austin every March and panel creation within our community in June and July. Set up meetings, set schedules and oversee our various events.
Other Programs: Support the team on additional Springboard events and programs, such as our Annual Winner’s Circle Awards Dinner, Corporate Meetings, and more. Represent the organization at startup community events.
Alumnae relations: Have a deep curiosity for the women entrepreneurs we work with and ability to think strategically about how to connect our women alumnae with the resources and connections they need to scale their businesses. Build program to foster an ongoing sense of community and loyalty for our alumnae.
Council Management: Work with Programs Team to create meaningful outreach or events to foster engagement for our existing councils (Life Science, Tech and Media, Women’s Health Innovation Council).
Council Development: Work with CEO to develop new Investor Council comprised of 5 investors each from Life Science, Digital Health, and Tech focus areas (total of 15 investors for pilot of this council). Work with CEO to refresh and refine some of our existing councils.
Partnership Role:
Expand Springboard’s Partner Network and global entrepreneur pipeline by following up on leads and partnership opportunities with other accelerators, non-profits, service providers, and conference organizers.
Raise sponsorship for all community events such as Dolphin Tank and SXSW events, etc.
Work to expand network of investors and corporate partners as valuable connections for our entrepreneurs
Diversity: continue to develop partner relationships with organizations focused on supporting diverse entrepreneurs as well as develop our own relationships with individual diverse women entrepreneurs.
QUALIFICATIONS
5-10 years of experience
Creative problem-solving abilities
Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills
Deadline oriented and able to manage shifting priorities
Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
Good presentation and exceptional social skills
Ability to work with individuals across many geographies and personality types
Eagerness to take ownership of projects and ability to follow through
Experience with or willingness to learn file-sharing, email marketing, design, database, and project management tools
