Springboard’s 5th Bi-Annual Caucus: Influence
The 2014 Caucus agenda focused on heightening awareness of the influence our entrepreneurs have in creating solutions to challenges both in the public and private sector. By bringing our entrepreneurs to the policy makers, innovators and legislators, Springboard raises the visibility of our network and our collective expertise. Springboard alumnae and advisors convened September 18-19, 2014 in Washington, DC for the a program that included the following briefings, events and sessions:
The White House: Hallie Schneir, Associate Director of Public Engagement in the Office of Public Engagement, gave opening remarks followed by a panel discussion featuring Karen Britton, Special Assistant to the President and Chief Information Officer, Dr. Taha Kass-Hout, Chief Health Informatics Officer, FDA, Doug Rand, Assistant Director for Entrepreneurship White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and Dr. Murray Sheldon, Associate Director of Technology and Innovation, FDA.
Capitol Hill Reception: Co-hosted with the Women’s High-Tech Coalition (WHTC), Springboard alumna and the Honorable Congresswoman Suzan DelBene (SV2001) addressed the legislative initiatives to solve policy challenges with tech solutions.
Biennial Springboard Caucus: The 5th Springboard Caucus was hosted at Venable LLP. The theme was “Multiplying our Influence”. Featured speakers: Springboard co-founder Denise Brosseau on Thought Leadership; Korn Ferry’s Cheryl Buxton on the results of the Springboard survey on Ágile Learners” and Springboard Board member and GCM’s Kelly Williams on the Investment Continuum and Women’s Role. Springboard alumnae and advisors participated as panelists both plenary and discussion sessions
